So what I have run into, is I dont know where the plug for the map sensor is, am I retarded? Or did they not come with map sensors in obd0. The other problem is the half shaft, there are no holes for it to bolt to the motor. So the halfshaft wont work, meaning no front wheel drive. Im going to connect just the rear up for now, and the passenger side, and then plug the drivers side.? I just finished getting the d16y7 bottom d16y8 head and the awd tranny all dropped in, and everything connected. If anyone is from west jordan or knows a lot about the obd0 swaps Im in need of some assistance. I have done all obd1 swaps, this is my first obd0.
Currently this is what the motor has, awd tranny, awd starter, awd alternator, d16Z6 throttle body, y8 head, y7 block, car is going to obd1, has d16z6 injectors, awd fly wheel, awd clutch, awd pressure plate, d15 dizzy. And I beleive that is it, what a frankenstein!! Thanks for your help fellas!

Ahh shitty! well Ill get my friend to weld a nut in there, there is only a spot for 1 hole. the other 2 spots are just bare block, no holes. any help with the map sensor anyone? there is no open plugs, and on my d16y8 head there are 2 sensors not connected, 1 being the map sensor, and the sensor on the top of the fuel rail. any help with thesE?

The map sensor on you wagon is mounted on the fire wall. The sensor on the fuel rail sounds like a EVAP sensor that doesn't need to be hooked up. You should be able to use a long axle on the driver side with out the half shaft. Is the motor in the car already??

You'll have to drill and tap the block to mount the intermediate shaft.
dirtbag here has my old '88 AWD wagon, he swapped a D15 into it I believe, he has all the first-hand info on the swap.

You need an OBD1 block. You should have done more research while planning this out. The d16z6 block has the threaded holes. Some of the OBD1 motors have unthreaded holes but that's not a problem. The problem is when you try to use an OBD2 block and there are no bosses at all!
That is not a sensor on your fuel rail. That is the purge control solenoid. That particular design will only work with the OBD2 ECU and OBD2 charcoal canister.
What throttle cable are you using?
Did you bypass the injector resistor box?

Throttle cable Im using the stock awd one, and no I didnt bypass the injector resistor box, im using obd o injectors but everything will be obd1 im using a p28 and obd 1 dizzy. how do I do the injector box bypass? I thought since it was a d16a6 in it before that I didnt need to do that..."? Not sure.

Just a thought, does anyone have a motor they will trade me for mine? I can garuntee mine was working great when pulled, leak smoked no oil. Which would you guys think would be the best way to tackle this, im going to try and fab a bracket for the half shaft tonight and tomorrow and will let you guys know what I come up with, and I did research on this, everyone said it would be fine,

So being that its mounted on the fire wall, should i unplug it and plug it into the one on the throttle body? evap is fine, the codes I got were 10 and 20, I cant use the long axle as that was my first thought to the problem, the rear diff sits to up high, you can only have a half shaft going into the side of it, or I could maybe see if i can fab the half shaft to the long axel reliably. Not to sure which path im going to take, but tomorrow the engine is coming back out of the car to asses this situation, whether I need to make a bracket or what. Thanks for your help I really appreciate it, also someone was saying something about the resistor box, and since im obd1 that ill need to bypass it to get my car to run?

I would use the OBD1 map. If you are running the OBD1 injectors you need to get rid of the resistor box. If you run the OBD0 injectors the you need to keep the resistor box.

Yes I am using obd0 injectors so ill need to keep the box then, okay so will the plug fit the map sensor on the throttle body? my car is throwing code 20 electric load detector? some say it happens, and doesnt effect the motor or performance. I just dont want any codes being thrown. my car cranks but doesnt start or sound like its going to fire, i think its not getting fuel, its getting a spark.

This has happened to me twice on this exact car when I owned it. Definitely check it out.
