I've thought about getting a rat, actually. They're awesome pets. Would just want a girl. The nuts on the male rats bother the fuck outta me, and I would feel bad if I ever stepped on'em.
I've actually had cats my whole life and love them to death. They're only as bad as you treat them when they're kittens.
Only picture I have right now of any pets I've had are Taz.
She was a Macrel Tabby, the less common breed that has the white stomach and paws. I had her for over 10 years, then my mom made me give her away when she took the litter box and told the cat (Yes, told) to "Just go outside" and expect her to go.
Was the sweetest thing ever. She followed me around, and would sit on my lap or on me in some way whenever she could, and would knead (quite gently actually) She would get into it too, and when she was older, would purr, knead, and drool. I want to get another cat, I'm just afraid I can't afford one.
