so i ponder to myself often "what will happen to gas fueled cars in 5 years". with global warming and getting "green" it seems as though gas will be a thing of the past sooner than later. it makes me sad that my si will probably be obsolete in less than 15 years or not even be allowed on the road! but there is some hope that ive seen, Honda's new CRZ looks pretty damn sick for an electric car. its the first electric car that ive got a hard on for Cheesy. so whats everyones thoughts on the tuner sceen for electric cars?

I think the rise of electric and alternative fuel cars, will be the decline of car enthusiasts.

I wonder if my future is going to be the old guy who owns/builds/races old cars for nostalgiac reasons.  I can't see myself getting away from the car modding, but I don't know how the auto industry is going to pan out in the future, and how it will effect me.

I'm pretty sure gas will not be gone anytime soon. People pay tons of taxes on it.

From what I've heard the goal is to make more fuel efficient cars.
Right now that seems they way things are headed, obviously we can see it with increased sales of fuel effcient cars.
fuel efficient= better emissions= "going green"

Even if every major automaker started mass producing electric cars, there will always be a market for our kind of cars. They might not be legal in some areas, but there is no doubt in my mind that 15-30 years down the road I will be drag racing my gsx at the track running e85 or race fuel. Gasoline has improved greatly since it was first used in some of the first motors and it has been getting cleaner ever since. We are going to be seeing gas powered cars for the rest of our lives. Just because new technologies arise, that doesn't mean that our dinosaurs will be extinct. There's guys out there still driving Ford Model T's around.

Well I am a go "green" guy myself. And i do agree with u about global warming, but the fucking idiot scientists skewed the data, which gives the media and the damn politicians ammo to piss on global warming.

I think the technology is out there to make all our cars more efficient. The oil sharks with their lobbying power is going to bend any green technology their way.

I am happy with my 35mpg civic atm and my weekend gas guzzler bb6  Grin

I think no matter what engines we have in the future we will find a way to modify them and make them faster.  I mean look back to the 80s when 4 cylinders started becoming popular.  With it still being not long after the Muscle cars died out i'm sure people thought it was the end of car modifying as well with all these Japanise 4 bangers selling so well with there great gas milage.  But then look what happened.  It created a whole new modifiication sigment.

I love four bangers  Smiley But then again I've never really known any different. Except for my silverado which doesn't count.
