course: All helmets meeting the current or two immediately preceding
Snell Foundation standards (SA, K, or M), or SFI standards

British spec BS6658-85 type A/FR are also acceptable.
For maximum protection, helmets must fit securely and should
provide adequate peripheral vision. The chin strap must be
securely fastened. Loaner helmets should be available to vehicle
occupants not having their own."

For most people, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong!) this means:
* SA95, SA2000, or SA2005
* K95, K2000, or K2005
* M95, M2000, or M2005

Basically, if you have a snell certified helmet that's < 10 years old, you should be set - this includes snell motorcycle helmets.

Face shield, goggles or similar face protection (conventional
eyeglasses are not sufficient) shall be worn while competing in a
sports racing car, formula car, special, or in any car with less than a
stock size windshield.

So, you'd have to be in a relatively wild car to need a full face helmet or other eye protection.

For those looking for a cheap helmet there's some used motorcycle ones on ksl for pretty cheap prices.  Also for fairly cheap there's some on ebay too.  Just search using the snell ratings.
