I'll be there for sure, finally got the rear disc conversion done. Just picked up a motor swap too, need to throw that in too eventually.

No Sad probably won't have the funds for that until next year, just spent all of my money on the rear disc conversion and the motor swap. I'm going to keep an eye out for some 15x6.5 traklites and throw either some hoosier a6's or kumho v710's on in 205/50r15, whichever I can find cheaper.

How about you? What other goodies have you purchased lately?

used race tires ftw!

I'm planning on heading out to NASA Nationals @ MMP this fall to grab some used tires - spec miata (they capped it to 60 cars last year!) runs 205/50R15 tires, so there's bound to be folks getting rid of some pretty fresh rubber.

obviously, doesn't do you much good if you're running funny sized wheels like 16's  Grin

hmm.  Do they really sell lightly used tires after they are done?  I may consider going and picking up some too then if they do.

'lightly' may be too strong a term.  I've never bought tires from an actual dealer (yes, there are actual used race tire dealers!), but my understanding is they're priced according to condition - they may have tires anywhere from near-dead to Huh.  There's an article in May's GRM on the subject.

FWIW, my race tires (bought used from dtcevo, thanks!) had 2-4/32nds of tread roughly.  I ran them for the first time at the Wide Open Wednesday event last week - probably their last time on the track, but still expecting to get a few autocrosses out of them.
