For those who aren't familiar-
SCCA ProSolo mixes the traditional autocross format with drag racing - they set up two side-by-side mirror image courses, and run paired starts using the tree.
All day saturday, and sunday morning is filled with the 'main event' - you'll get 6 runs on each side, and your total time for the weekend is the sum of your fastest run on each side.
Sunday afternoon, they run three different challenge events - the Ladies Challenge (top 8 ladies on index), the Super Challenge (top 32 on index), and the Bonus Challenge (8 randomly chosen) - with the PAX system being used to equalize the different classes, lots of cars have a chance to take the top spot. Last weekend at Wendover, a H Stock '91 Civic went all the way to the last round of the Bonus challenge!
If you've ever autocrossed before, you should definitely do at least one ProSolo.
The Utah Region SCCA has hosted a ProSolo event for the last few years at the (extremely grippy) Wendover Airport. I competed in my first ProSolo this last weekend, and had a great time. I'll make sure to post here early enough next year to see if we can get a few more of y'all out.
