Help Passing Emissions with Huge Cam
« on: April 26, 2014, 11:13:19 AM »
I have built a D series 1.6 to High Compression with a 270 duration cam. As far as that goes, the car runs great, but I can not pass emissions. My HC was 6x the limit and my CO was 13x the limit. What can be done with an all motor powerhouse to cut back on emissions? If nothing, what would you recommend as far as a head swap? If all fails, I was thinking of swapping to a Z6 head. Please help me make a wise decision.

Or if you are willing to spend the money there is always e85. That shit burns clean! but you also burn alot more of it. So make sure you have a place to fill up close to your house. you might even be able to get a few more hp.

With my stock mini me I did a few tests a while back and they always came out like 6x times the limit this 12x the limit that then I finally got lucky and can register my car in wyoming now, where my brother lives. I cant stand dealing with that crap and the money it takes just to get it to pass.

If you think it's tough here don't ever move to California then.  It's cake here compared to back home.
